Uiro

Uiro

It is a specialty of Odawara who kept its manufacturing methods and traditions since the birth of Muromachi period about 600 years ago. It features steamed rice flour as raw material, dusty texture and elegant sweetness. In addition to the standard “white” of photos, we sell all five types including “chestnut” and “red bean”. By the way, the etymology of Garou (wairo) is lightly off, alias of medicine effective for bad breath. There are various theories that it turned out to be referred to as “euro” because the rice flour was used for reworking after drinking medicine, as well as appearance and speech were similar to the medicine.
