Yamayasu Kamakura Shop
This store was established in 1863 and is directly managed by an old-fashioned dried fish shop in Odawara called “Yamayasu”. While preserving the traditional taste, they incorporate the latest equipment and technology to offer top quality dried fish at an affordable price. Fresh fish are caught in the morning in the Odawara Harbor and surrounding harbors, but they open and dry them instead of freezing them, which is a process called “asa tore nama hiraki”. Since only a small amount is manufactured due to damaging, size standards, and other reasons, you can buy these for a bargain price.
