Hoshoji

Hoshoji

This is a temple of the Nichiren school of Buddhism in Zushi. A Nichiren Saint’s thatched hut is set on fire during the “Matsubakiya Law”, and it is said that if a saint is led by a white monkey he will avoid difficulties in the caves beside the current Kaisando. After that, one of six Nichiren monks, Saint Hiroaki, then Saint Rokei took over the aspiration to “build a temple in this place to repay a kindness”, and built Hosshoji in the first year of the Genkou period (1321). Hosshoji also has the cemetery of Hiroaki.
