Hakushu Memorial Hall

Hakushu Memorial Hall

Hakushu Kitahara (poet) lived in Miura City when he was around 28 years old. It is also where works such as the “Poems of Tokyo Landscapes” and the “Rain in Jokagasaki” were left behind. In the memorial hall, commentary with scenic photographs of the tanka poem, “Isinglass Collection”, a copy of Hakushu’s handwritten notes, “Kiri no Hana Jiken” that conveys Hakushu’s anguish after he immigrated to Misaki, pictures of the former residences of early foreign settlers, and Hakushu’s message as the main axis are displayed here.
