Perry Memorial Hall

Perry Memorial Hall

There is a memorial hall in the middle of Perry Park. Historical materials related to the arrival of Perry, including picture scrolls and an old book describing the black ships just before the arrival of Perry, and dioramas are displayed. On the same premises as the memorial hall, you can also see the “Perry landing monument” that the American Friends Association built in 1901. The inscription reads, “United States of America Admiral Landing Monument”, written by Ito Hirobumi.
