The garden of “Raitei” has a size of 50,000 ㎡, and it is also a place where you can see the beautiful view of Mt. Fuji, Hakone mountain range, Oshima, Sagami Bay and more, including stone Buddha Statue and Stone Pagoda that gathered from all over Japan, Hakkakudō (octagonal temple) imitating the one in Horyuji Temple, and you can also enjoy bamboo grove, Japanese apricot grove, big leaf hydrangea and other seasonal flowers. The main building where the restaurant placed formerly was a home of a wealthy farmers in the Edo era back in 1929 that was relocated and rebuilt, and it is also registered as a Tangible Cultural Property of Japan together with the main gate of the temple that was relocated from the old one. You can enjoy soba (buckwheat noodles), Japanese cuisine and sweets while watching the beautiful garden and the nature of Kamakurayama. On April 25, 2016, the city of Kamakura was certified as “Japan Heritage” by the Agency for Cultural Affairs, and “Raitei” is also designated as a constituent part of the cultural assets.
